SEAS Sustainable Energy Investor Forum 2011

CTI PFAN, in collaboration with SEAS (Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore) organized a Sustainable Energy Investor Forum on 2nd November 2011, during the Clean Energy Expo Asia held in Singapore.

The Forum was sponsored by SEAS under its recently awarded LEAD Grant (by SPRING and IE Singapore) as a key component of SEAS initiatives to spur the development of high quality technologies and projects emerging from Singapore to assist both local and regional growth of the renewable energy sector and access to commercially viable clean energy projects. In addition CTI PFAN supported a number of non-Singapore based projects / businesses from South-East Asia to promote the growth of regional solutions within the renewable energy sector.

The event entitled “SEAS Sustainable Energy Investor Forum 2011” provided the platform for seven innovators from Asia to present their sustainable project plans to a group of potential investors and stakeholders. These projects include a rural solar water heating solution from Ambicales Clean Technology; a high-yielding Jatropha plantation from Biofuels Asia; and a heat recovery wind energy solution from Entec ESCO Vietnam.

The winner of the Investor Forum, EcoScience Investments Pte. Ltd. (ESI), showcased a new technology enabling the production of ethanol from agricultural waste, such as bagasse, rice straw and empty fruit bunches (EFB).

“Winning first prize in this prestigious competition is a solid confirmation that we are on the right track,” said Per Dahlen, Managing Director – Europe, who accepted the award on behalf of ESI. “The organizers have done a fantastic job in selecting and coaching all the project teams. We are thrilled that we stood out as a ready-to-go investment project with fantastic growth opportunities.”

“The Investor Forum at Clean Energy Expo Asia provided clean tech companies with the chance to share our concepts to a targeted audience. The presentations, each 10 minutes long, presented various ideas on sustainable energy, providing an entertaining and enriching experience. The Investor Forum is a program worth repeating,” said Kenneth Lee, the Founder & CEO of Green Koncepts, a manufacturer of a real-time energy management and reporting solution. Green Koncepts was the runner-up at this year’s Investor Forum.

“CTI PFAN is pleased to support the Investor Forum at Clean Energy Expo Asia as it is an innovative platform to support and promote investments in clean energy projects in the region. Without the support and advice from such initiatives, many project developers are unable to access appropriate financing for their implementation requirements. This forum coincides with CTI PFAN’s other activities in the region and we look forward to other similar events in the near future,” Peter Storey, CTI PFAN Global Coordinator.
