As part of PFAN’s re-launch in Central America and the Caribbean, the team of Jorge Barrigh, Regional Transaction Manager, Patrick D’Addario, Strategic Advisor for the Americas, and Federico Fische, Regional Coordinator for Central America and the Caribbean, will be participating in the Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF) in Miami, 16-18 October, 2019.
PFAN’s participation at CREF is part of a series of network outreach and consolidation activities in anticipation of the 2nd NDC and Climate Finance Forum in St. Lucia, which will be hosted by the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States with partners Get.Invest and the NDC-FI, 16-20 March 2020.
In addition to their speaking and moderation roles at the event, the PFAN team will host an invitation-only investor briefing, with CREF officials, as part of their ongoing coordinated support for private investment in clean energy and climate projects.
CREF is the largest annual gathering of the Caribbean energy market. In 2018, over 500 attendees from 50 countries attended and 120 speakers populated three days of a rich and deeply interactive program. Over 25 Caribbean countries were represented by their government or by their utility, or in most instances, by both.
As we look forward to CREF 2019, the priorities for the region are clear: energy needs to be clean, resilient, reliable and economic. We have the political will and the regional know-how; we have the capital, we have the technology. Now what we need are projects, deals – and results. We are shifting gears this year, elevating our agenda, the critical issues, and actively facilitating meetings between key stakeholders.
