Sabera supports the mainstreaming of gender into all aspects of PFAN’s work. It’s not about tokenism or ticking boxes, she says. “Teams that are well balanced make the most effective businesses. It’s not just about a good feeling.” Her role as gender ambassador includes advocating for gender equality in the way finance is accessed by entrepreneurs, and to create increased value for women beneficiaries from private sector activities.
Sabera works closely with all regional coordinators, connecting country-level projects to regional trends as she believes investors are keen to work with local projects that have a regional outlook.
Besides her work for PFAN, Sabera heads the Green Knowledge Institute in Lusaka, Zambia.
