PFAN at the International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum 2023
About the event:
The International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF) 2023 aims to showcase bold, scalable and transformative solutions to inspire and drive actions towards achieving the SDG during its Cleantech Days.
This year, UNIDO is bringing together cleantech start-ups and SMEs supported by its various programmes such as Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) and PFAN so they can share their success and connect with potential investors and partners from the cleantech innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The Cleantech Days 2023 will also provide a platform for knowledge sharing among the key players. It will introduce participants to key global trends, innovative technologies and inter-disciplinary solutions in the field of energy, climate change and sustainable development and share lessons learned and best practices with the goal of driving cleantech forward and faster.
PFAN’s participation will be three-folded:

The Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN) is a global network of climate and clean energy financing experts, which offers free business coaching and investment facilitation to entrepreneurs developing climate and clean energy projects in developing countries. It is hosted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP). Since its launch in 2006, PFAN-supported climate and clean energy businesses have leveraged more that USD 3 billion investment.
The low- and middle-income countries, which are also in focus of PFAN, are most susceptible to impacts of the climate change. Gap for climate adaptation finance is severe. Supporting climate adaptation businesses and helping them to access to finance are priorities to PFAN.
Global Cleantech Innovation Programme promotes innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging markets and developing economies to address climate and environmental challenges. GCIP supports start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with innovative cleantech ideas in establishing and upscaling robust business models. GCIP also strengthens entrepreneurship ecosystems and facilitates partnerships and networking between private and public actors to ensure the long-term sustainability of its interventions.
