Pakistan E-mobility Forum “A Business Opportunity in Motion”
Launched officially in February 2021, the Pakistan Private Sector Energy Project (PPSE) focuses on expanding the portfolio of commercially-viable clean energy projects in Pakistan and providing support to enable them to access financing and reach financial close. Supported by USAID, the project targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan, including those located in industrial zones, while also addressing the needs of isolated communities through off-grid solutions.
An integral part of promoting clean energy in Pakistan is promoting the supply-chain and use of electric vehicles as transport accounts for more than 40% of the air pollution produced in Pakistan, according to data from the country’s climate change ministry. Electric vehicles (EVs) have the potential to lead the transition in road transportation from traditional petroleum mobility to electric mobility.
This is why e-mobility is a focus area in the Small and Medium Enterprises, PPSE aims to support for scale up and is conducting an e-mobility forum on 26th August 2021, 2:00 pm (Pakistan Time). The forum will bring together several key players and stake holders in this sector and discuss how electric vehicles can be captured as an economic and environmental opportunity.
Pakistan’s Automobile industry contributes 2.8% to its GDP and recently, Pakistan formulated its first EV policy for 2020–2025 to accelerate EV adoption. The forum will discuss the potential provided by the EV policy as well as the bottlenecks due to the reality on-ground.
The PPSE Pakistan team will also illuminate how the project can support EV companies in obtaining financial closure from investors. This forum is a great opportunity for anyone interested and involved in the e-mobility sector to build their expertise, connect with the relevant network and learn more about what PPSE has to offer!
